Living in God’s Economy

It is so easy to get caught up in living within man’s economy.   That can be stressful though.  God never intended for us to be stressed out about money, so why are we?

Click HERE for a great article on the Crown Financial website about this subject.

The main thing to remember is that we should be honoring God with all we do, not money.  If your life revolves around money, then there may be a problem.  We are to live for God and He is our master, not money.  We also need to trust God with our money.  He is the reason you have any in the first place.

My husband and I have been trusting God completely with our tithe.  During these uncertain times it isn’t always easy to write that 10% check to the church, however we do it joyfully.  Why?  Because we want to honor God.  We trust Him completely to provide for us and it is a form of worship.  He brought my husband’s job to him and He allows us to have all of the money that we have.  It all comes from Him.

These past few months we have been tithing our full 10% on gross income and God has been blessing us left and right.  We just keep trusting and He keeps blessing us.  It is amazing.  So amazing that I’ve started journaling it so we will NEVER forget what God has done for us.

He asks us to test him on this in Malachi 3:10-12.  Here is how it reads:

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the LORD Almighty.  “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

He’s serious on this.  Test him and see.  We did and I’m amazed every single day.

  1. Michelle, I love that verse from Malachi. We also have seen time and time again that when we are generous with our money, God blesses us above and beyond what we could ask for. Why we ever doubt is stupid! He always meets our needs (and sometimes even our wants!)
